FAQs

What are the legal requirements for a pool?
+
Your pool needs to follow pool safety legislation such as NZBC Clause F9 and 162C of the Building Act.
What are the main requirements of a pool fence?
+
Pool fencing is required to be at least 1200mm high, 1800mm high on a boundary, with gaps of no more than 100mm in the fence itself. The pool fence gate must open outwards and have a suitable latch. There can be no climbing points on the fence or outside of the fence.
What are the points to consider regarding gates
+
Gates must open outwards. They must be self closing, even in the wind. The gate latch needs to be positioned so that it meets height and distance requirements. Warner use hinges and latches developed specially for pool fencing.
How much does pool fence cost?
+
It is best to contact your nearest Warner representative to determine the cost of your pool fence. Many factors influence cost from varying pool shapes, inclines or if the fence joins an existing structure. Contact your nearest Warner representative today to discuss your pool fence project.
Do I need my pool fence to be compliant with council requirements?
+
Yes, most councils do 3 yearly random checks on pool fences. Basic requirements are fence height and a gate that needs to open outwards. Contact your nearest Warner representative to work with you to design a compliant pool fence.
When would I choose glass over tubular fencing
+
Often we install a combination of glass a tubular fencing. Glass between your home and the pool, makes it feel like the pool is a full part of your outdoor area, whilst being secure and compliant. Tubular works well in other areas with a focus of being secure. Whether its 100% glass or 100% tubular, or a combination, we will work with you to find the best solution for you.
What is a PS1 and how do get one?
+
A PS1 is a design statement, that is issued at the design stage of the project.
